Who this notice covers
This privacy notice applies to the MeetMeat iOS app. MeetMeat does not require an account and does not run advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. If we publish a later version of this notice, the date at the top of this page will change.
Summary
Location is used only while the app is open, to find nearby shops and to apply the optional pork-hiding rule. Camera and photo-library access are used only to read label text on this device. Favourites, scan text and your language setting stay on the phone. When you use Nearby, Apple Maps receives a map search, and DuckDuckGo may receive a search that includes the cut name and city. We do not sell personal data and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Location
If you allow “While Using the App”, MeetMeat reads an approximate position (about a hundred metres) and reverse-geocodes it to a city, region and country. The country code can hide pork when that setting is Automatic. Coordinates are sent to Apple Maps so Nearby can list butchers and grocers. The city name may be included in a DuckDuckGo query for public web snippets. Location is not used to build a movement history, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Camera and photos
The scanner uses the camera, or a photo you pick, to recognise printed text with Apple Vision on this device. Frames and photos are not uploaded to a MeetMeat server — there is no MeetMeat account server. Recognised text may be stored locally as a scan record so you can reopen a match. You can deny camera or photo access; scanning that path will simply be unavailable.
On-device processing
Cut matching, pork-policy logic and all atlas copy run on the device. If Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models are available on your hardware, buying advice may be generated on-device from the cut text and nearby shop names already on screen. If that model is not available, MeetMeat uses a short built-in heuristic instead.
What stays on this iPhone
UserDefaults stores language, the pork policy and whether onboarding is done. Core Data stores favourite cut IDs and scan records (recognised text, matched cut, time). These stay in the app sandbox. Uninstalling MeetMeat deletes them on that device, unless they were included in an encrypted iCloud or computer backup you control.
Third parties
Apple: operating system, Maps / MapKit local search, on-device Vision, optional Foundation Models, and any iCloud backup you enable in iOS. DuckDuckGo: a JSON search request that may contain the cut name and city when you open Nearby; DuckDuckGo’s own policy applies to that request. We do not embed social, ads or crash-reporting SDKs.
Tracking, sale and children
MeetMeat does not track you for advertising. We do not sell personal information. The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your choices
iOS Settings → MeetMeat controls camera, photos and location. Me → pork policy controls whether pork is shown. To delete local history, delete the app. Privacy questions: iamwmh@gmail.com.
Changes and contact
If we add an account, analytics, or any data that leaves the device in a new way, we will update this notice and the App Store privacy nutrition labels before that version ships. Same notice: in-app under Me → Privacy.

本机处理与本地存储
部位匹配、猪肉策略和图鉴文案都在本机完成。UserDefaults 保存语言、猪肉策略和引导状态。Core Data 保存收藏与扫描记录。卸载应用会删除该设备上的上述数据，除非它们已包含在你控制的加密备份中。
第三方、追踪与儿童
Apple 提供系统、地图本地搜索与本机视觉识别。打开「附近」时，DuckDuckGo 可能收到含部位名和城市的请求。我们不做广告追踪，不出售个人信息，不以 13 岁以下儿童为目标用户。

La localisation sert pendant l’usage, pour les commerces autour et la règle facultative de masquage du porc. Caméra et photothèque servent à lire une étiquette sur l’appareil. Favoris, texte scanné et langue restent sur le téléphone. Dans Autour, Plans d’Apple reçoit une recherche; DuckDuckGo peut recevoir le nom de la coupe et la ville. Pas de vente de données, pas de suivi publicitaire.
